  • What objects can be played with Specdrums?

Specdrums can be played on anything. You can use the app's default twelve colors to play on the Specdrums Keyboard, which comes in each package, or you can reassign sounds to any other colors you choose.

What are the number of colors the Specdrums can Play?

Specdrums can reliably differentiate a maximum of about twelve distinct colors at once (for example, the twelve colors provided on the play pad) given a wide range of tap angles. When a new color is calibrated that's too similar in hue and saturation to a previous color, that previous color will be disabled to prevent misreads. You can calibrate your Specdrums Ring to any colored surface in the world. Bright, saturated colors are recommended as they are easier to differentiate.

Can you connect a bluetooth speaker through your phone/tablet and play the Specdrums?

Yes, you absolutely could do this!

    Are the Specdrums waterproof?

No, Specdrums rings are not waterproof.

What if they are color blind? Does this help or hurt them?

The rings detect color on their own and will play sounds accordingly. So if you set the "Bass Sound" to "Red", it would still be an enriching experience to explore the colors not seen by sonic means. One could argue it may help associate color a bit too for learning purposes
