The Best Standing Desks in Singapore 2022
By Amirah Zakiyyah
Updated April 2022
You may be comfortable working at a desk, but the truth is, sitting most of the day can have long-term health implications (not to mention back pain and the strain on your shoulders). A standing desk based on your needs not only helps you work in a more comfortable position, but you're also able to ramp up productivity and at the same time burn calories when you switch between sitting and standing frequently. Who wouldn't want that? To better align your posture and ease you into making that leap into a healthier workspace, we've rounded up the best standing desks of 2022.
#1 Best Overall: Omnidesk Ascent
The Omnidesk Ascent is the latest version in Omnidesk's collection of workstations with new and improved features.
The column-like leg structure gives the Omnidesk Ascent more heavy-duty support and helps against buckling. It has a rounded top adding to the overall stability while also giving sleek look.
Some reviewers have described the assembly process of the Ascent as faster than most Lego builds, with good measure. Putting the Omnidesk Ascent takes five minutes tops as it has a streamlined assembly process with few parts to assemble!
One of the new features in the Omnidesk Ascent is the Omnidesk Life companion app where users can control the settings of their desk from a smartphone. It's a pretty handy app considering it allows you to track the time you spend sitting or standing, adjust the desk's height and many more.
It also comes with a brand-new controller with bigger buttons and app control. This controller offers customisable colour options from rolling colours to single colour variants if you want to spice up the ambience of your work area. The app also lets you adjust the sitting and standing height remotely.
Other improvements include a faster elevation speed. Think lifting 130kg at 60mm/s. Lowering or raising your desk becomes a quick and fluid process. The Ascent lets you deal with loose cables by bundling them up into the three magnetic trays it comes with. There's even a cable management bar under the grommet table to hold your adapters.
During testing, reviewers noticed that the Bluetooth range is short. Tracking also seemed to stop if you were away from the desk, locked your phone or moved away from the app.
Overall, the improved technology and fast speed make the Omnidesk Ascent the standing desk to beat at the moment.

#2 Best for Added Features: EverDesk+ Max
Created by the same team behind Singapore's ergonomic work chair maker, ErgoTune, the EverDesk+ Max aims to be the work desk for your home.
This desk is available in three different sizes (120cm x 60cm, 140cm x 65cm and 160cm x 70cm). You can choose the tabletop from colours such as dark walnut, raw ashen oak or lily white. There's also a black frame option if you don't like white.
With clear guided instructions, you'll assemble the EverDesk+ Max in no time. The tabletop comes pre-drilled. As soon as you align the frame onto the desk's surface and install the Health Coach (i.e. control hub) to the pre-drilled location on either side of the table, you're good to go.
Unlike other desk controls we've seen, the EverDesk+ Max has a circular desk control, called the Health Coach, which you can install anywhere on the front side of the table surface. Turn the Health Coach clockwise to raise the desk height and anticlockwise to lower the desk. Moreover, the desk Health Control lets you custom three height presets. Since it's touch enabled, a single tap gets the table to your desired height.
What we love is the Health Coach reminder feature to kick you into the habit of sitting and standing up at timed intervals of 15, 30 and 60 minutes. You can choose from three subtle vibrations to remind you to stand up and work.
Another great feature is the extended frame. Need more space? The EverDesk Max+ lets you extend the frame from its minimum width of 108cm to the widest at 180cm. This desk comes with a dual-motor system where you can adjust the height at a speed of 45 mm/s. Though this is a lot slower than the Omnidesk Ascent, you do spend less time waiting for the adjusted height.
Messy wires are a thing of the past. The 'UniGroove' Integration makes for more aesthetically pleasing cable management with 22 holes to thread through your wires. It also acts as a phone or tablet stand!
#3 Best for Simple Assembly: Vari Electric
The Vari Electric standing desk has earned top spots in many critics' lists and for good reason.
Vari's Electric standing desk comes in three different widths (48 inches, 60 inches and 72 inches). It's also available in five types of finishes (reclaimed wood, black, white, butcher block or dark wood) and supports up to 90.7kg, making it an ideal desk for users with heavier workstations PCs or with multiple monitors set up.
The desk features two t-style legs where there's a motor within that allows it to be lowered to 63.5cm or raised to a height of 128cm.
The control panel is installed on the front of the desk on the right side. Depending on your preference, you can easily switch it to the left just by removing two screws. In addition to up and down arrows to raise or lower the Vari, there's also an LCD readout that tells you the exact height in inches or centimetres (you can toggle between the metric or imperial unit of measurement).
What's more, Vari includes two hooks that clamp onto the side of the desk (to hang headphones or a purse, for example), six-Velcro-like straps for cable management and a silicone coaster to rid of coffee rings.
Critics have high praise for the Vari Electric standing desk because of the thoughtful assembly process. Since the desk's frame comes pre-attached, customers only have to assemble the four legs. Putting it together took about 15 minutes which was about half the time spent assembling other standing desks, critics say. This is the standing desk for you if you're not handy with assembling furniture.
What impresses us with the Vari Electric is its maximum and minimum height. Whether you're on the smaller or taller side, finding a suitable sitting or standing height is easy. Additionally, you can store your preferred sitting or standing height. Once you've pressed the "M" button followed by one of the programmable buttons on the control panel, you simply press the buttons you've programmed and the desk will adjust the height on its own.
One of the reasons we're enamoured with the Vari Electric is the quiet, smooth and consistent movement when adjusting sitting and standing heights. Even with a full cup of coffee, the desk and be raised or lowered without spilling a single drop.
Unfortunately, if you require more extensive support in keeping your various cables organised, the Cable Management Tray will incur extra costs.
Overall, the Vari Electric standing desk should be at the top of your list. It's one of the easiest to assemble, comes with attractive accessories and allows you to customise the style to choose the right one for your workspace.

#4 Best for Durability: Fully Jarvis Bamboo
The Fully Jarvis Bamboo has plus points because other than having a material (bamboo) that has been sustainably grown, your desk is also protected with a tough polyurethane coating.
The word that comes to mind when you're using the Fully Jarvis Bamboo is classy. If you've been working on crappy IKEA desks for years, the feel of the smooth, nearly-svelte surface with the Fully Jarvis Bamboo is unlike anything you've experienced before.
You can make the Fully Jarvis Bamboo standing desk truly yours. In addition to choosing the shape of your desk, there are also options to choose the size and finish.
Similar to the Vari Electric standing desk, the Fully Jarvis Bamboo comes with motorised components concealed in the legs, adding to the overall streamlined design. The sturdy and solid build of the Fully Jarvis Bamboo makes it look like it can support any equipment no matter how heavy. This comes as no surprise when Fully states it supports an impressive 158kg. There are also circular cutouts towards the rear where you can route cables or whatnot.
Critics mentioned that putting together the Fully Jarvis Bamboo isn't as easy as the Vari Electric. The main reason is that, unlike the Fully Jarvis Bamboo, the Vari Electric comes with part of the support framework already mounted on the side. Your job is only to attach the legs and feet. This desk takes about half an hour to set up, that's twice as much time when assembling the Vari Electric. You'll need your Phillips-head screwdriver during the assembly process.
We have no complaints when it comes to performance as the Fully Jarvis Bamboo rises and lowers silently. The touch control for adjusting height works a bit differently from others in which rather than two buttons, the Fully Jarvis Bamboo requires you to press the front of the button to lower the desk and the underside of the button to raise it.
While the Fully Jarvis Bamboo standing desk doesn't have a big range of minimum and maximum height (76.2cm and 109.2cm respectively) unlike the Vari Electric, the Jarvis standing desk supports nearly 70kg more than the Vari.
As mentioned, the Fully Jarvis Bamboo takes longer to assemble.
Overall, the Fully Jarvis Bamboo standing desk is a solid addition to your workspace if you're looking for something that's both attractive and handles a large weight capacity.

#5 Best Customisation Options: Uplift V2
Configure and customise your desktop style to your heart's content with the Uplift V2 standing desk.
On both sides of the back of the Uplift V2, you'll find holes to thread through your wires. At the front of the desk, you'll find the keypad where you can choose its placement on either the left or right side. There's also an LED display to show the current height of the desk, a button to move up and another to go down, four memory preset buttons and an "M" button to lock in your preferred sitting or standing height.
On the underside of the desk, you'll find a frame that contains the control box. The Uplift V2 benefits from a large number of mounting points, 48 to be exact. We love this solely for the fact that it gives you the option to expand your desk by adding new features whenever you want.
The Uplift V2 standing desk prides itself on the array of customising options. From a variety of surfaces to opt for (yes, there's a whiteboard option), you can also choose the size of your surfaces, frame types and frame colours.
The beams in the Uplift V2 have to be attached on your own. Because of this, set-up roughly takes the same amount of time as the Jarvis standing desk.
The Uplift V2 performed as well as the latter two models. It lowers and raises to the preferred seating and standing heights quietly. The Uplift desk supports up to 161 kg which is more than enough weight to withstand a heavy workstation, multiple monitors and all other accessories. The desk has a minimum and maximum height of 64.26cm and 129.29cm respectively, roughly the same range as the Vari Electric standing desk.
The Uplift V2 comes with adjustable foot glides but it's a pity that oil runs down its leg as it starts to wear after a certain period.
Overall, the Uplift V2 standing desk has a nice touch with 48 hole accessory mounting points available to tailor more additions exactly to your liking.

We've already spent too much time at our desks in a typical working week. However, the difference when you've switched to a standing desk is that you'll be more than happy to continue tapping, gaming or whatever you do well into the night and beyond.
