#2 Design & Display

Garmin Forerunner 955 vs Garmin Epix 2

Garmin epix (Gen 2)

The biggest difference between the Garmin Forerunner 955 & epix 2 will be their design.

The Garmin epix 2 comes with an AMOLED display that features a 416 x 416 pixel resolution for a crystal-clear experience. The AMOLED display provides full, bright colour and deep blacks to let your screen really stand out. In comparison, the Garmin Forerunner 955 uses the standard sunlight-visible, transflective memory-in-pixel (MIP) display with a screen resolution of 260 x 260 pixels.

Another standout difference is their bezel design. The Garmin epix 2 shines with its stainless steel frame to give a premium look while the Forerunner 955 sports a polymer exterior that is more lightweight. This also results in the epix 2 weighing heavier at 76 g versus the Forerunner 955 at 52 g. The weight difference will be a significant consideration for most as you will have to decide between lightweight comfort or robust aesthetics for your day-to-day activities..
