Let’s talk price. The Garmin epix 2 retails for a hefty US$899. For an additional US$100, you can get your hands on the Sapphire version, which upgrades the lens material to sapphire crystal.

The Garmin Forerunner 955 goes for US$599 instead and has a Solar version that costs US$699. The Solar version comes embedded with solar bits to enable solar charging for an extended battery life.

For the sake of the review, we will be comparing the standard models of the Garmin Forerunner 955 and epix 2.
