Despite its technological improvements, the Wyze Video Doorbell v2 is priced lower than the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro. Both video doorbells are also weatherproof with an IP65 rating, which means they can withstand any sort of weather conditions including wind, snow, and rain, without getting damaged.
One striking difference is that while the v2 comes in full black color with a glossy finish, the Pro comes in white with black accents and has a more matte finish. The v2 is also slightly smaller than the Pro, but this difference is negligible, as both models are compact and unobtrusive.

In addition, the v2 features the new Color Night Vision, which allows you to see a full-color image of your front porch at night, rather than the traditional black and white as seen in the Pro model.
Both models also have a different field of view due to differences in aspect ratio, with the v2 offering a 135° horizontal, 103° vertical, and 166.8° diagonal field of view, while the Pro offers a 150° horizontal and 150° vertical field of view. However, the resulting footage is equally wide in both models, allowing you to see more of who's at the door from head to toe.

Compared to the Pro model, the v2 also offers some new features. Its support for local storage of up to 256 GB allows for continuous local recording, while the Pro model only relies on cloud storage available in the subscription plan. It also offers a pre-roll video, so you can see what happened before a motion event was triggered, while the Pro model only supports this feature when hardwired.

This Wyze Chime Pro allows you to choose between 20 unique tunes and 8 sound levels to customize your doorbell experience, from traditional ring sounds to chirp and bark sounds. The v2, on the other, is currently not compatible with any Wyze Chime. If you use your own existing doorbell chime, the tune customization may be more limited.

As hardwiring is required, installation of the Wyze Video Doorbell v2 can be a bit tricky for those who are not familiar with electrical work. However, as all the required hardware is included, you should be able to complete the installation if you carefully follow the instructions provided.
Installing the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro, on the other hand, can be a lot easier. You can mount it as simply as sticking the 3M adhesive mounting plate that comes with the device onto your doorframe. If you want a more secure placement, a screw kit is also provided. Hardwiring is supported but not required, as the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is powered by rechargeable batteries that can last for up to 3-6 months. This gives the Pro model more flexibility in terms of installation options.

In addition, the Pro model comes with a chime that you can install in your house, while the v2 model comes only with a chime controller that connects your existing chime with the video doorbell. This allows you to use your traditional chime if you have one, but if you don't, you will need to purchase a separate chime to hear the doorbell ring or choose to receive notifications on your phone only.
Another difference to consider when it comes to installation is that while the Wyze Video Doorbell v2 is only compatible with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro is compatible with both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
