Garmin Lily 2 Active vs. Fitbit Luxe

Garmin Lily 2 Active and Fitbit Luxe are two stylish smartwatch models that have a feminine aesthetic. However, each comes with a unique set of features and capabilities that make one the better option for certain users based on their specific needs and preferences. Which one is the better outfit companion for you?

Key Takeaways

Both have fashionable appearances, but the Fitbit Luxe better tracks overall wellness while the Lily 2 Active has a more well-rounded smartwatch experience. The key strengths of the Fitbit Luxe include ECG, skin temperature variation, and intelligent alarms that wake you up on your optimal sleep stage. Meanwhile, the Lily 2 Active stands out with a built-in GPS, nap detection, music control, and Garmin Pay contactless payment.

Design & Display

Garmin Lily 2 Active vs. Fitbit Luxe

Garmin Lily 2 Active

Both smartwatches have a jewelry-inspired design, but they have a very different look and appearance. Which one looks more stylish and sophisticated will depend on individual preference, but I personally think the Lily 2 Active wins for its watch face while the Fitbit Luxe wins for its bands.

The Lily 2 Active's watch face looks discreetly elegant. The beautifully patterned lens hides the liquid crystal display when not in use, giving it a jewelry-like appearance. When activated, the monochromatic display shows the necessary information cleanly as if it's floating on the watch face.

While the Lily 2 Active has a round watch case, the Fitbit Luxe has a rectangular case that houses an AMOLED touchscreen. AMOLED is a colored, more vibrant display than the Lily 2 Active's no-color LCD, but it's too obvious that it's a smartwatch display compared to the more seamless look of the Lily 2 Active.

What gives the Fitbit Luxe the edge in design is its wide range of stylish, slim band options. There is a classic silicone band, leather band, woven band, stainless steel mesh band, and gorjana bracelet (my favorite!), which is included in the Special Edition. The gorjana bracelet is a stunning piece of jewelry that truly elevates the Fitbit Luxe's style. On the other hand, for the Lily 2 Active, only silicone bands are available as for now.

Health & Fitness Features

Fitbit Luxe

Garmin Lily 2 Active and Fitbit Luxe equally track heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen, sleep, stress levels, and various workouts and activities from running and hiking to swimming and yoga.

Sleep tracking in the Garmin Lily 2 Active is more comprehensive as it also includes naps while the Fitbit Luxe focuses solely on night sleep. However, both watches provide a sleep score with sleep stage insights.

When it comes to mindfulness features, both watches are well equipped with stress tracking and guided breathing sessions (known as 'Relax' in Fitbit), which can help users manage their stress levels. However, Fitbit Luxe scores better in this regard as it also offers a Reflection feature that allows users to log their mood.

Fitbit Luxe also offers two health-monitoring features that the Lily 2 Active doesn't offer – ECG and skin temperature variation. ECG can provide irregular heart rhythm notification, including signs of atrial fibrillation. Meanwhile, skin temperature variation can provide insights into your overall health.

One advantage that the Lily 2 Active has over the Luxe is the built-in GPS, which allows for accurate tracking of metrics like pace and distance for outdoor activities. The Fitbit Luxe, on the other hand, uses connected GPS, meaning that it relies on your smartphone's GPS instead of having its own built-in GPS.

Smart Features

Garmin Lily 2 Active

Garmin Lily 2 Active and Fibit Luxe can pair with your smartphone to receive texts, alerts, or call notifications on the wrist. Both also support text response by selecting from pre-written quick replies, but it is only possible for Android users for both watches.

Both smartwatches also offer alarm functions, but the Fitbit Luxe stands out with a Smart Wake Alarm feature, which aims to wake the user during their optimal sleep stage, instead of during deep sleep, for a more refreshed start to the day. The alarm intelligently wakes the user at the ideal time within a 30-minute window before the set alarm time.

Despite lacking this smart alarm feature, the Garmin Lily 2 Active offers a more comprehensive suite of smart features, including the ability to control music playback on a paired smartphone and the option to make contactless payments through Garmin Pay. These are features that the Fitbit Luxe does not offer.

Battery Life

Fitbit Luxe

Battery life depends on settings and usage, but the Garmin Lily 2 Active generally has longer battery life compared to the Fitbit Luxe. It is rated for up to 9 days of runtime in the default smartwatch mode, while the Fitbit Luxe is claimed to last for up to 5 days on a single charge. That makes the Lily 2 Active the better option for those who want a longer-lasting wearable.

Final Thoughts

Garmin Lily 2 Active vs. Fitbit Luxe

Garmin Lily 2 Active

The Garmin Lily 2 Active and Fitbit Luxe both offer a stylish and feminine design, but they differ in their overall looks, features, and capabilities. While the Lily 2 Active boasts a more discreet and elegant watch face, the Fitbit Luxe shines with its wide range of fashionable band options, including the stunning gorjana bracelet.

In terms of health and fitness tracking, both devices are well-equipped, but the Lily 2 Active has the advantage of built-in GPS and nap detection, while the Fitbit Luxe offers additional features like ECG, skin temperature variation monitoring, and mood logging.

When it comes to smart features, the Lily 2 Active has the upper hand with music controls and Garmin Pay, but the Fitbit Luxe's Smart Wake Alarm is a unique and potentially useful feature.
