Both cameras have a similar rectangular shape, but the DJI Osmo Action 3 is slightly more compact with dimensions of 70.5 x 44.2 x 32.8 mm and a weight of 145 g. Meanwhile, the GoPro Hero 11 Black measures 71.8 x 50.8 x 33.6 mm and weighs 154 g.
The DJI Osmo Action 3 features a dual full-color touchscreen on the front and rear side, making it easy for you to preview and adjust your shots from both angles. The GoPro Hero 11 Black also has a dual-screen, but the front screen is only meant for preview while the rear-side screen is touch-sensitive and allows for navigation of the camera's settings.

The front screen, rear screen, and lens protective cover of the DJI Osmo Action 3 don't only feature hydrophobic coating for water-repellency but are also made with high-strength Gorilla Glass that makes the camera wear-resistant, scratch-resistant, and drop-resistant to 1.5 meters. This makes the DJI Osmo Action 3 a great action camera perfect for risky outdoor activities and extreme sports.
The DJI Osmo Action 3 also has a larger battery capacity of 1770 mAh for longer recording time, compared to the 1720 mAh battery of the GoPro Hero 11 Black. Both cameras' batteries are cold-resistant, but the DJI Osmo Action 3 can withstand colder temperatures from -20°C to 45°C, while the GoPro Hero 11 only supports an operating temperature of -10°C to 35°C.

The DJI Osmo Action 3, on the other hand, supports a lower resolution of 4K/120 fps video and only 12 MP photo. However, it has a 1/1.7" image sensor which is larger than the Hero 11's smaller 1/1.9" image sensor, meaning that the Action 3 is better at optimizing image quality in low-light environments.
Both cameras have advanced image stabilization that provides smoother footage even in the most intense action scenes. GoPro Hero 11 Black features HyperSmooth 5.0, which is the latest and most advanced version of GoPro's image stabilization technology. Horizon Lock keeps the horizon steady even when the camera rotates a full 360-degree, while AutoBoost intelligently determines the level of video stabilization based on your speed and movement. Meanwhile, the DJI Osmo Action 3 features RockSteady 3.0, HorizonSteady, and HorizonBalancing for stabilization comparable to that of Hero 11.

In terms of features, one advantage that the DJI Osmo Action 3 has is a Built-in Timecode. If you have multiple footage from multiple cameras, this feature allows you to efficiently synchronize the footage from different cameras, making it easier to edit and produce your final video.

However, the DJI Osmo Action 3 has an edge on its InvisiStick, which basically is an extension rod that makes it easier to capture selfies and vlogs from different angles and further distances. It is different from GoPro's El Grande Extension Pole in that it can be invisible in your footage, using the DJI Mimo App which allows you to erase the InvisiStick from your footage, making it look like someone else is holding the camera for you. This is perfect for capturing ski runs, surfing, diving, or other sports where you need to capture a third-person view of yourself by yourself.
