TORRAS has released the latest addition to its Coolify line-up, the all-new Coolify 2S. The new model is an upgrade to the second-generation Coolify2, which was released back in 2022.
They have made some decent improvements to the Coolify 2S, ensuring that it offers even better performance and more features than its predecessor.
In this review, we compare the TORRAS Coolify 2S vs TORRAS Coolify2 on price, design & specs, and features to figure out if it is worth the upgrade.

The TORRAS Coolify 2S is listed at US$229, while the TORRAS Coolify2 will cost you US$199. The price difference between the two models is not significant, and we believe that it would not be a dealbreaker for most people when choosing between them.
However, both devices do come at a premium price point. If you're looking for something more affordable, you can consider TORRAS' neck fan range, which is priced closer to US$100. You will have to forgo the cooling and heating functions though.

If you're a current user of the TORRAS Coolify2, you'll quickly notice that the new Coolify 2S looks identical. And for the most part, it actually is. The exterior shape and size of the Coolify 2S remain exactly the same, and every nook and cranny is in the same spot as before.
However, if you're a keen observer, you may notice one small change in the Coolify 2S - the size of its cooling area. The Coolify 2S now has a slightly larger cooling area of 8,040mm² compared to the 7,500mm² area in the Coolify 2. It's a small difference, but the additional cooling area provides more coverage around the back of your neck for a more immersive experience.
The other not-so-obvious upgrade in the Coolify 2S is the extended battery life compared to the Coolify2. The Coolify 2S comes with a 5,000mAh battery while the Coolify2 has a 4,00mAh battery. Though it may seem like a small difference, this contributes to a 55% longer battery life in the Coolify 2S to help you power through a long day of heat. Additionally, the Coolify 2S can be charged while in use, giving you greater flexibility to extend its battery life using portable chargers in case it runs out of power. Users who have to use the Coolify for long hours on a daily basis will definitely appreciate this feature.

One core upgrade in features for the new Coolify 2S is the integration of Bluetooth functionality and app connectivity. TORRAS released their new smart app that will now let you connect to your Coolify 2S device so that you can seamlessly control it from your phone. The app will let you toggle between the different Cool/Fan/Heat modes and their respective level settings and let you easily check on the battery life of your device.
At first glance, this might seem gimmicky. However, currently, you have to press two buttons on the Coolify2 to adjust your settings and check the battery level on a tiny LED screen. This becomes even more troublesome when the device is worn around your neck and you have to constantly take it on and off to make changes. In time, you will see the convenient benefits of the smart app for the Coolify 2S.

Final Thoughts
The TORRAS Coolify 2S definitely isn’t a revolutionary upgrade to its predecessor, which makes sense as it is the ‘2S’ model. The slight change in the name denotes the improvements in the new device. A good way to think about it is that TORRAS took the feedback on the Coolify2, did some upgrades, and released a better version based on the feedback.
If you’re deciding between the two models, we definitely feel its worth paying slightly more to get the extra features that the new model has. It isn’t too crazy of a price difference and the upgrades do justify the bump.
If you're currently a Coolify2 user and considering an upgrade, we suggest that you wait for the next iteration. It may come with bigger upgrades that will make your money more worthwhile.
