Design

Ulike Air 10
Both the Ulike Air 10 and JOVS Venus Pro II come with ergonomic shapes and matte finishes, which feel modern and user-friendly. The controls are intuitive, so there’s not much of a learning curve with either.
That said, they look quite different. The Ulike Air 10 has a classic IPL look, kind of like an electric shaver. Meanwhile, the JOVS Venus Pro II has a more unconventional, axe-like design that reminds me of a hairdryer, due to its bulky head.
But JOVS has a trick up its sleeve: a 330° rotating swivel head. This feature makes it easier to glide over curved areas or awkward angles, which I think is a thoughtful touch.
JOVS also includes six dedicated magnetic heads for specific areas like the face, arms, legs, underarms, and bikini line. Ulike doesn’t come with any attachments.
Instead, Ulike relies on a fixed head with a relatively large 3.9 cm² treatment window. That size works great for larger areas like the legs, allowing us to cover more skin in fewer flashes. However, it can be too large for targeted areas like the face, chin, or bikini line.
JOVS wins in terms of precision here. Its flash window sizes vary depending on the attachment: 1 cm² for face, 2 cm² for bikini line, 3 cm² for arms, and 3.6 cm² for legs and underarms. While none match the sheer size of Ulike’s window, the customization makes targeted treatments easier.
Features

JOVS Venus Pro II
JOVS Venus Pro II takes a body-area-specific approach. It offers six treatment modes that emit different light wavelengths depending on the targeted area—face, arms, legs, underarms, and bikini.
The sixth mode is a bonus: Skin Rejuvenation. It doesn’t remove hair but helps improve skin tone and texture, making it a nice value-add.
Ulike Air 10, on the other hand, structures its modes by power and speed rather than body area. There’s Fast (high speed for quick touch-ups), Normal (balanced), High (stronger output for coarse hair), and Super Hair Removal (SHR), which delivers a powerful 26J per 4-pulse burst to attack stubborn hair on areas like the armpits, chest, or bikini line.
While Ulike lacks body-specific modes or heads, it does have 10 intensity levels, compared to just 6 intensity levels on JOVS. That allows for more fine-tuning.

Ulike Air 10
Another advantage that Ulike has is a SkinSensor that automatically adjusts the intensity based on our skin tone and prevents flashing on areas that are too dark.
JOVS doesn’t have such a skin tone sensor. It only uses a contact sensor to avoid accidental flashes when not pressed against the skin.
Ulike also has dual light sources, which means more energy per flash, faster flash speed, and more coverage. That makes treatments faster and more thorough. JOVS sticks to a single light source.
Despite these differences, both have ice cooling tech to keep skin comfortable and reduce the risk of irritation. They also offer manual and auto flash modes, so you can either press to flash or glide and let the device do its thing.
Treatment Schedule

JOVS Venus Pro II
Both devices recommend starting with 3 sessions per week for the first two weeks. After that, the schedules begin to differ.
Ulike Air 10 continues at 3 sessions per week for the following two weeks (weeks 3 and 4), before transitioning into a maintenance phase of 1-2 sessions per month.
JOVS Venus Pro II, on the other hand, scales back to 2 sessions per week in weeks 3 and 4. After that, it also shifts to a monthly maintenance routine of one session per month.
So while the first two weeks are the same, Ulike maintains a higher treatment frequency a bit longer, whereas JOVS reduces the pace sooner.
Lifespan

Ulike Air 10
Both devices boast "unlimited flashes," but what they really mean is you probably won’t hit the cap any time soon. The Ulike Air 10 has up to 900,000 flashes, while the JOVS Venus Pro II has 500,000. That’s a 80% difference.
In theory, both should last for many years of use, even if you’re sharing the device. But here’s the kicker: JOVS includes an on-device flash counter, so you can actually track how many flashes you have left.
That makes it easier to monitor lifespan and plan ahead with the JOVS. Meanwhile, Ulike doesn’t have a visible flash counter.

Final Thoughts

JOVS Venus Pro II
Both the Ulike Air 10 and JOVS Venus Pro II are excellent at-home IPL devices, but they shine in different areas.
The Ulike Air 10 is a great choice for those treating larger areas like legs or arms, thanks to its wide 3.9 cm² treatment window. It also includes a SkinSensor for safer use, SHR mode for stubborn hair, and a long-lasting 900,000 flashes for years of treatments.
Meanwhile, the JOVS Venus Pro II stands out with its rotating head and flash window attachments for specific body zones, offering more precision and flexibility. The added Skin Rejuvenation mode also gives it extra appeal for those interested in skincare benefits.
