The display has a 50 fps refresh rate, which is great enough to provide a smooth viewing. It ensures that the text remains clear and legible even when the user is moving the device, without any noticeable smearing or ghosting effect.
The integrated stand allows the Smartlux Digital to be used in 3 ways: handheld by fully retracting the stand, placing on the reading material by fully extending the stand, and positioning it upright to accommodate writing under the display.

Eschenbach Smartlux Digital offers magnification levels from 3x-15x to accommodate varying vision needs. Magnification can be adjusted simply by pressing the zoom-in or zoom-out buttons on the device, allowing elderly users to find the perfect magnification level for their reading comfort.
Next to the zoom-out button, you'll find a red button with a contrast icon. This button adjusts Viewing Modes, which allows the user to toggle between the preset contrast and color settings.
For example, instead of viewing the reading material in its true color, the user can switch to a high-contrast black-and-white mode, yellow-and-black mode, or blue light filter to reduce eye strain. In total, the Smartlux Digital comes with 14 viewing modes.
For even easier reading, users can also activate the reading lines, which help guide the eyes across the text.
In addition, Eschenbach Smartlux Digital comes with built-in LED lighting that helps to illuminate the reading material for better viewing. The illumination can be switched off when not necessary or set to 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%.
#3 Capture and Save

Eschenbach Smartlux Digital is more than just a magnifier. It is reminiscent of a smartphone or tablet, with the ability to capture and save images.
While reading, senior users may come across something important that they want to refer to later, so the ability to capture and save images can be very useful in such cases.
This Photo function can be accessed simply by pressing the blue button with a camera icon. What's displayed on the screen will be captured and stored in the device's 8 GB internal memory, which can be reviewed later right from the device or transferred to a computer via a USB connection.
If you don't want to permanently save the capture to the device but still want to review it at the moment, the same button allows for freeze frame functionality, where the image is temporarily displayed on the screen without being saved. Pressing the button again will then take you back to the live viewing mode.
