1. Performance

While both styluses include tilt detection and have the same drawing and writing precision, the Apple Pencil has pressure sensitivity but the Logitech Crayon doesn't.

This means that the Crayon is more suitable for note-taking or working on illustrations that don't require the control of having fine lines.

That said, professionals whose work revolves beyond basic outlines should avoid the Logitech Crayon and opt for the Apple Pencil where you can easily produce a wide range of artistic effects.

2. Compatibility

The Logitech Crayon will work with iPad mini (5th and 6th generation), iPad (6th, 7th, 8th and 9th generation), iPad Air (3rd and 4th generation), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st and 2nd generation) and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd and 4th generation).

The Apple Pencil works with iPad mini (6th generation), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd, 4th and 5th generation), 11-inch iPad Pro (1st, 2nd and 3rd generation) and iPad Air (4th and 5th generation).

3. Battery Life

On a single charge, the Logitech Crayon has 8 hours of battery life compared to the Apple Pencil's 12 hours. However, the Crayon has an 'On/Off' button so you can ensure the battery's not wasted in between uses and even powers off automatically after 30 minutes if it's not in use. The Pencil, on the other hand, has an Apple Battery widget found in your iPad to check the battery levels.

4. Design and Ergonomics

As for design, "durable" comes to mind when one sees the Logitech Crayon for the first time. Unlike the Apple Pencil, the Logitech Crayon is squared off, looks chunkier and sports a rectangular body.

Although the Apple Pencil is more aesthetically pleasing when it comes to appearance, the way it's designed isn't as practical for use. Since it's more rounded, the Pencil easily rolls off the desk. The glossy exterior may also make writing uncomfortable over time due to the oils from your skin.

Final Thoughts

If you don't care about pressure sensitivity and are looking for a pencil-like tool, you want the Logitech Crayon.

Despite the cheaper alternative, many would still go for the Apple Pencil to get the most out of their iPad.
