Overall Design

Tineco Pure One S15

Both vacuums have a cordless, stick-like design that can be used in upright and handheld modes, making them highly versatile and easy to maneuver.

Dyson V15 has a more advanced in-line design, with the motor, bin, and cyclones aligned straight. This configuration enhances airflow, balance, and suction power. In contrast, the Tineco S15 maintains a more conventional layout, with the motor and bin positioned perpendicular to each other.

Dyson V15 also boasts a larger bin capacity at 0.77 L, which is 63% larger than the Tineco S15 series with just 0.46 L bin volume. If you have a large home, the Dyson V15's larger bin capacity may be more convenient.

Both vacuums come with docks for charging and storage, but the Dyson V15 uses a wall-mounted dock that requires drilling and installation of screws, while the Tineco S15 has an install-free freestanding dock known as the FreeStnd. It offers more flexibility in placement while saving you the hassle of wall mounting.

Display

In terms of display, both vacuums equally display essential information like battery, cleaning mode, and maintenance alerts. However, each offers exclusive display features that set them apart.

Tineco S15 series displays the battery level in percentage, the suction power level, and a dust monitoring loop that turns red when the iLoop sensor detects a high amount of dirt on the floor and turns blue when the floor is clean. The S15 Pro model also features 3D animation of the cleaning process, but it only adds to the visual appeal and not much to the functionality.

Dyson V15 displays the battery level in runtime countdown, that is how many minutes of runtime are left, which is more practical than Tineco S15's percentage display.

From the built-in piezo sensor, the V15's display also provides real-time particle count data categorized by their size. We can see colorful bars on the LCD screen, which rapidly increase when the vacuum picks up more particles in dirty areas, and decrease as the area gets cleaner.

So, instead of seeing a simple color-coded indicator of how dirty is the floor, as in the Tineco S15, we can see the actual particle number and size being picked by the vacuum with the Dyson V15. It is more advanced and informative, though it may not be a necessary feature for all users.

Features

Cleaner Heads

Tineco S15 vs Dyson V15

Dyson V15 Detect

The Dyson V15 comes with two different cleaner heads, the Fluffy Optic and the Digital Motorbar, which you can switch between depending on the surface you are cleaning.

The Fluffy Optic cleaner head is meant for hard floors. It emits laser light that highlights microscopic dust particles on the floor, making them more visible so you can see what the vacuum is picking up.

The Digital Motorbar cleaner head can be used on all floor types. It has a built-in Dynamic Load Sensor (DLS) technology, which can adjust the suction power automatically based on the floor type, boosting the suction when detecting carpets. It also features de-tangling vanes to clear hair from the brush bar, making it suitable for cleaning homes with pets.

Tineco S15 series offers two types of brush for different variants — ZeroTangle for the S15 Essentials or Direct-Drive ZeroTangle for the S15 Pet and S15 Pro. The difference between the two is primarily the built-in high-torque motor on the Direct-Drive version, which provides better cleaning performance on carpets and improved pet hair pickup.

ZeroTangle or Direct-Drive ZeroTangle is like the Fluffy Optic and Digital Motorbar combined. It is optimized to de-tangle hair from the brush while featuring LED headlights that can illuminate the cleaning path for better visibility in dark areas. It's just that LEDs are not as advanced as laser light, and there's no DLS technology to automatically adjust suction power based on the floor type.

Cleaning Modes

Tineco S15 vs Dyson V15

Tineco Pure One S15 Pro

Tineco S15 offers 2 cleaning modes, including the Auto mode which automatically adjusts suction power based on the level of dirt on the floor detected by the iLoop sensor, and the Max mode which provides maximum suction power for tougher cleaning tasks.

The Tineco S15 Pro variant offers an additional cleaning mode, the Manual mode. Using the integrated power control slider, we can manually adjust the suction power level to our preference, providing more flexibility for users who prefer more granular control over the cleaning performance.

Dyson V15
offers 3 cleaning modes — Eco, Auto/Medium, and Boost. Eco mode uses low power to optimize runtime, while Boost mode is similar to Max in that it provides maximum suction power. However, the Dyson V15 can deliver up to 240 AW, which is 2x higher power than the Tineco S15 with just 120 AW maximum suction power.

Auto mode on the Dyson V15 is similar to that of the Tineco S15 in that it automatically adjusts suction power based on the detected dirt level. However, the V15 determines the dirt level based on the particle count data from the built-in piezo sensor instead of what the iLoop sensor detects on the floor. Getting feedback from what the vacuum has actually sucked up feels more accurate and reliable.

When using the Digital Motorbar, Auto mode on the Dyson V15 also means automatic suction adjustment based on the floor type detected. When a carpet is detected, the suction power is increased automatically to provide more effective cleaning.

When non-powered attachments, like a crevice tool, are used with the Dyson V15, Medium mode is displayed instead of Auto mode, providing a balance between suction power and runtime.

Filtration

Tineco S15 vs Dyson V15

Tineco S15 and Dyson V15 have a similar 5-stage filtration that captures 99.9% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, providing excellent air filtration and preventing allergens from being blown back into the air.

The stages are also similar, first using a primary cyclonic separation, a mesh filter, cyclone technology, a pre-motor filter, and finally a post-motor filter.

In the third stage, the Tineco S15 uses Tineco PureCyclone technology while the Dyson V15 uses Dyson Root Cyclone technology.

One difference is that the Tineco S15 includes a HEPA filter on all of its models, while the Dyson V15 includes a HEPA filter only on the Absolute edition.

In-App Features

Tineco Pure One S15

Tineco S15 Pet and Pro models offer connectivity to the Tineco app, which provides advanced features like real-time cleaning performance, cleaning reports, settings adjustments, maintenance reminders, and more. Tineco S15 Essentials does not come with app connectivity.

Dyson V15 also has an accompanying mobile app, the MyDyson app. However, the vacuum can't connect to the app, limiting the in-app features to mere access to user guides, content, and product support.

Battery

Tineco S15 vs Dyson V15

Dyson V15 Detect

Both cordless vacuums have a removable battery, which can be swapped out for a spare battery to extend the cleaning time. However, runtime per battery is longer on the Dyson V15.

Dyson V15 can last for up to 60 minutes per charge and takes around 4.5 hours to fully charge. The Tineco S15 series, on the other hand, only provides up to 40 minutes of runtime per charge and takes around 4 hours to fully recharge.

Final Thoughts

Tineco S15 vs Dyson V15

Tineco Pure One S15

Dyson V15 seems to be the more advanced option overall, thanks to its more sophisticated design and display, two cleaner head options, superior suction power, intelligent cleaning modes with the piezo sensor, and longer battery life.

However, the Tineco S15 is not to be overlooked, as it offers excellent value for the money, with iLoop dirt detection, versatile cleaning modes, app connectivity in the Pet and Pro variants, and a convenient freestanding dock. The higher-end Pro variant also offers a unique Manual mode, which is appealing to users who prefer more customized control over the cleaning performance.

Ultimately, the choice between these two models will depend on your specific cleaning needs, budget, and personal preferences.
