One common control feature across both models is the dial on their receiver, allowing for quick gain adjustments during recording. However, the DJI Mic 2 allows more precise gain control from -12 dB to +12 dB while the Mic Mini is limited to 5-level increments of -12, -6, 0, +6, and +12 dB.

First of all, DJI Mic Mini offers 2 levels of noise cancellation while DJI Mic 2 only has one. The Basic level is suitable for quiet indoor settings, while the Strong level provides stronger noise reduction for challenging environments.
On top of that, the noise cancellation feature is not available in the DJI Mic 2 when the transmitter is connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth. In similar scenarios, the DJI Mic Mini maintains its noise-cancellation capabilities regardless of the connection method, though only the Strong level is supported during direct connection to a phone.

DJI Mic Mini also has an exclusive feature that the DJI Mic 2 doesn't offer. The Automatic Limiting feature can be enabled, which prevents audio clipping by automatically adjusting the volume when the audio input gets too high.
DJI Mic Mini also seamlessly connects to the DJI Mimo app, whether via the mobile phone adapter or Bluetooth. You can get firmware updates, see battery status, and adjust parameters through the app.
DJI Mic 2's primary advantage is its internal storage, which allows for standalone recording of up to 14 hours of audio without being connected to a device. 32-bit Float Internal recording is also supported, providing a high dynamic range for professional post-production flexibility and preventing audio distortion.

Despite this range difference, both microphones offer similar connectivity options. With the adapters or connection cable, the receiver can connect to smartphones, cameras, computers, or DJI devices like Osmo Action 4, Osmo Pocket 3, and Osmo Mobile 6.
It's just that the Lightning adapter is included only with the Mic 2, while the Mic Mini offers it as a separate purchase option.
With Bluetooth connectivity, both models can also connect directly to compatible devices without the receiver. For certain DJI devices like Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Action 4, and Osmo Pocket 3, both models support DJI OsmoAudio for direct transmitter connection and high-quality audio capture.
Battery
DJI Mic 2
DJI Mic 2 boasts a substantial battery capacity, with 360 mAh for the transmitter and receiver and 3250 mAh for the charging case. It is considerably larger than the DJI Mic Mini, which stores 114 mAh in the transmitter, 170 mAh in the receiver, and 1950 mAh in the charging case.
However, regarding the runtime, the DJI Mic Mini wins by a huge margin. The transmitter can last for up to 11.5 hours, the receiver for 10.5 hours, and the charging case offers approximately 3.6 cycles when charging two transmitters and one receiver at the same time, which translates to about 48 hours of total recording time.
That is more than twice the total runtime of the DJI Mic 2, which only offers 18 hours of total recording time with 6 hours from the transmitter, 6 hours from the receiver, and 2 charging cycles from the case.
