#1 Overview of Ryze Tello

Ryze Tello is a drone specially designed for kids. It features industry-leading components from DJI and Intel, making it a high-quality and capable drone.
The drone supports a maximum flight distance of 100 meters (328 feet) and a maximum flight time of around 13 minutes, so kids can have plenty of space and time to learn and explore with it.
The most straightforward way to control the drone is with the Tello App, which allows kids to pilot the drone with their smartphone and see the drone's camera feed in real-time.
Other ways include controlling with a compatible remote controller and auto-flying the drone using programming languages, which we'll discuss in more detail in the next section.
#2 Learn programming skills

Ryze Tello is programmable using coding languages like Scratch, Swift, and Phyton. Scratch is the easiest for kids to get started with basic programming, Swift is for intermediate coders, while Python is for more advanced programmers.
Scratch, accessible via the Tello Edu app or DroneBlocks app, is block-based coding that allows kids to create their own programs by snapping together visual code blocks. Blocks represent different commands and actions that the drone can perform, which then will be linked together in sequence to create a complete program.

A basic illustration of this is that a kid could program the Tello drone to take off, move forward for 100cm, yaw to the right, move back to 200cm, perform a backflip, and then land. It is an automated sequence of actions that the drone will execute once the program is started, so manual control is not required. The animated tutorials are available in the Tello Edu app for kids to learn and train.
In the more advanced programming, Mission Pads are sold separately, serving as guiding points that enable the drones to perform more complex aerial acrobatics.
Drone Swarm is also possible, where multiple Tello drones can be programmed through one device to fly in a coordinated formation.
#3 Capture photos & videos

Like a typical drone, the Ryze Tello can also capture photos and videos during flight. The high-quality Intel 14-Core Processor enables capturing 5MP photos and 720p HD videos, and the drone's two antennas provide a stable video transmission.
To accommodate beginner users with little experience in drone flying, the Ryze Tello offers EZ Shots, which are pre-programmed camera shots and video modes that allow kids to easily capture cinematic footage without the need for manually piloting the drone. Some EZ Shots options include Circle, 360, and Up & Away.
#4 Easy operation

With beginner pilots in mind, the Ryze Tello is designed to be easy to operate and fly. With a single tap in the Tello app, the drone can take off, land, and perform basic maneuvers.
The drone can also start flying simply by tossing it into the air, and 8D flips can be performed with just a slide on the screen.
Ryze Tello also features Bounce Mode, which allows the drone to automatically fly up and down within 0.5 and 1.2 meters of a flat surface below the aircraft.

Ryze Tello is durable and lightweight at 80g, so you can be confident that it can withstand minor crashes and bumps without sustaining major damage.
The Failsafe Protection feature allows Tello to land safely even if the connection is lost, and its propeller guards can be used to enhance safety.
In addition, Ryze Tello features Low Battery Protection. This will alert you when the battery is running low so you can land the drone safely before it runs out of power.
