#1 The 4 new models: B4, C4, G4, M4

LG B4

LG B4

LG announced four OLED TVs in this lineup, which are the B4, C4, G4, and M4.

B4 is the entry-level model, coming in with a starting price of $1,700 for its smallest 55-inch size, an affordable price point for those who want to experience OLED technology without breaking the bank.

The picture and audio quality are still top-notch, powered by the Alpha 8 AI Processor, an upgrade from the previous Alpha 7 in the B3. The B4, though an entry-level, is also not missing out on some of the new smart features that the other higher-end models offer, which we'll look at more closely in the later sections.

LG C4

LG C4

C4 is the mid-range model, retailing at $2,000 for the 55-inch size but offering smaller 42" and 48" size options at lower price points than the entry-level B4. C4 is expected to follow the steps of its predecessor C3 to become the most popular and recommended model in the lineup, offering a balance between performance, features, and price.

C4 is powered by the Alpha 9 Gen 7 AI Processor which delivers stunning picture and sound quality better than the Alpha 9 Gen 6 AI Processor in the previous C3 model. It also comes with a range of features that make it a versatile TV for home theatre, gaming, or even videoconferencing.

LG G4

LG G4

Both the G4 and M4 are the high-end kids on the block, equipped with the Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology, which is currently LG's brightest OLED panel, making both TVs the brightest OLED TVs that LG has to offer.

Both models are also powered by the new Alpha 11 AI Processor, which promises a 70% upgrade in graphics performance and 30% faster processing speeds over the last generation processor. The new processor can now also create a virtual 11.1.2. surround sound and is superior to previous generations in terms of upscaling lower-resolution content.

LG M4

LG M4

The price for G4 starts at $2,600 for its smallest 55-inch model. The price for M4 has not yet been announced, but as LG's flagship model this year, it is expected to be the most expensive among all the other models. The M4 is very similar to the G4 in terms of picture quality, audio quality, and smart features, but has an advantage with its revolutionary wireless design that eliminates the need for cables and wires cluttering up your living room.

The wireless design of the LG M4 is possible thanks to the use of Zero Connect Box, a separate box that houses the connectivity ports of the TV, so you can connect all your devices like a set-top box, gaming consoles, or a DVD/Blu-ray player without having to run cables to the TV itself.

However, keep in mind that the M4 is still not completely wireless, as it still requires a cable to be connected to an outlet to power the TV.

#2 The webOS 24

webOS 24

webOS 24

All four models in the lineup run on the new LG's webOS 24, which is an upgrade from the previous webOS 2023, promising to deliver a smoother and more intuitive user experience with the new, nicer-looking interface.

The webOS 24 also allows the creation of up to 10 password-protected user profiles, so each family member (or even guests) can have their own personalized home screen and recommendations.

Other than that, LG now guarantees a 5-year upgrade for TVs with webOS 24, so you can be ensured your TV is futureproofed, receiving software updates and new features for at least the next five years.

#3 New Matter support

LG Home Hub

LG Home Hub

The four OLED TVs in the lineup also now support Matter, which is a new connectivity standard for smart home devices that allow devices from different manufacturers to integrate seamlessly.

With this support, you can now control your Matter-compatible smart home gadgets directly from your LG TV, without having to switch between different apps on your phone or tablet.

If you're looking to build a smart home system, this new Matter support on LG TVs will be very advantageous. More and more devices from different brands are very likely to adopt this new Matter standard, so having a TV that supports it is a great investment for the future.

#4 MultiView upgrades

MultiView

MultiView

All the new LG OLED TVs in the lineup are retaining the MultiView feature that was also present in the previous models. MultiView allows you to split the screen into two equal parts and watch two different content simultaneously. This can be helpful if you want to watch a sports game and a movie at the same time, if you want to videoconference while keeping an eye on the news, or if you want to play a game while watching a tutorial video.

With the new MultiView upgrade, you can now split the screen into four parts, so you can watch up to four different content at the same time. Also, the upgrade now allows you to display up to 2 HDMI inputs instead of only one, giving you more flexibility in terms of the content you can watch at the same time.

However, keep in mind that the upgrades are only available on the high-end G4 and M4 models, while the B4 and C4 still only support MultiView of up to 2 content at the same time with only one HDMI input.

#5 Ultrafast 144Hz gaming

If you're a highly enthusiastic gamer, you'll be happy to know that the new models in LG's 2024 OLED TV lineup, except the entry-level B4 model, now support ultrafast 144Hz gaming with the HDMI connection, an upgrade from the 120Hz maximum refresh rate on the previous models. A higher refresh rate means smoother gameplay with less motion blur, giving you a competitive edge in fast-paced games.

However, take note that gaming consoles today only support up to 120Hz output, so you can't yet enjoy this feature if you mostly play on consoles. To fully utilize this advantage, a PC with a 144Hz graphic card is required.
